Biography |
|
|
Doug has long been an avid fan
of stock car racing, everywhere from short-track racing were he idolized
Hoosier Racing Legend, Denny Nyari through the years, to Busch Series
and Winston Cup Racing.
After much preparation, Doug began putting
together a race team in the Spring of 2000. Upon completion, he began
traveling to tracks in New Paris, Indiana and Kalamazoo, Michigan in order
to get track and testing time. After months of practice
and time spent fine-tuning the car, he was finally ready. Doug began
racing in the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series at Kalamazoo, late-season in the Summer of
2000. In preparation
for the 2001 racing season, Doug attended Finishline Racing School in
Daytona Florida, November, 2000. He drove at the New Smyarna Speedway
under instruction from Chief Instructor and NASCAR Champion Mike Loescher. |
